| 03.03.2006 - New IRONMAN Event in Switzerland |  BK Sportpromotion AG will be launching the 1st. "IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND" on Sunday 3rd June 2007 in Rapperswil-Jona.
The Swiss Premiere of the IRONMAN 70.3 will take place on Sunday 3rd June 2007 in Rapperswil-Jona. IRONMAN 70.3 is a triathlon, which is held over half IRONMAN distances (1.9 km swim, 90 km bike, 21.1 km run; in total 113 kilometers = 70.3 miles).

| IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND is a qualifying event for the Ford IRONMAN World Championship 70.3, which is organised by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) and will take place every year in Florida in November, beginning with 2006.
The IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND in Rapperswil-Jona will offer 100 starting slots for the World Championships in Florida. Licence issuer WTC has ruled that countries may hold a maximum of one IRONMAN 70.3 event. IRONMAN 70.3 events will be held in numerous countries, such as Brazil, Denmark, Great Britain, Mexico, Monaco and the USA.
BK Sportpromotion AG, the promoters of IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND, chose Rapperswil-Jona as a venue because the town is very attractive for tourists and is a great supporter of sporting activities. The successful organisation of the cross-country world championships in 2003 proved that the town of Rapperswil-Jona has excellent infrastructure and that the inhabitants are so positively inclined towards sports to ensure a great sporting festival.
According to Walter Domeisen, President of Rapperswil and Benedikt Würth, President of Jona, "IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND will not only suit the lovely countryside of the Upper Lakes but also the sporting politics of our towns. The towns of Rapperswil-Jona which will be uniting on 1st. January 2007 is therefore ready to support the international sports event with the current infrastructure and additional services".
Over 2,000 athletes from home and abroad are expected to take part in the first IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND. Besides 500 individual athletes, a further 1,500 will cover the distances as members of relay teams.
BK Sportpromotion AG already organises IRONMAN SWITZERLAND, the Züri Triathlon, the Swiss Company's Triathlon and the IRONKIDS, all of which will take place on 1st./2nd. July 2006 on the Landiwiese in Zurich.
